While scheduling your orthopedic appointment online is easy, you may have questions when using the tool for the first time. This section should help address some of those concerns and give you the confidence to manage your care whenever and wherever is most convenient for you.
I'm not sure who to book with. Will this tool help me decide?
Not sure who to book with? No problem! Just answer a few questions and our Book Online tool will narrow down to the best locations, times, and providers for your unique situation. Then it's as simple as selecting the location and date that work best for your schedule.
How do I know if my insurance will cover the visit?
The online booking tool has a field with insurances that OrthoSouth is in-network with. Start typing your insurance company's name, and select it from the drop-down list to ensure you have the right match. If there are any issues with plan coverage, you'll either receive a notification during the booking process, or someone will call you from our offices.
What if I choose the wrong specialist?
All of our orthopedists are board certified in general orthopedics, meaning that they are all qualified to handle orthopedic issues. In some specialized situations, your provider may determine it's best to refer you to one of his or her partners who has added qualifications in your specific area of need. In that case, your care team will streamline that internal referral process as seamlessly and conveniently as possible for you.
It's important to note that the book online tool was developed to help guide you to the right provider the first time based on your symptoms, affected body party, location, and availability. However, you may override that guidance when searching by physician name. If the physician you wish to see does not see for the reason entered, the tool will notify you and offer alternative providers from which to select.
What if I need imaging first?
If you have recent outside imaging, please arrange to have it sent to OrthoSouth, or bring it with you to your first appointment. Outside imaging is usually most requested when you've been referred from a primary care or other provider, or when coming in for a second opinion. To make sure you get the most out of your consult and time with the doctor, it's always helpful to make sure we have it on-hand at your visit.
Can I book a same-day appointment online?
Yes! OrthoSouth strives to be as convenient as possible, offering same-day availability for most issues. You will have an opportunity to schedule for the next available appointment time right in the online booking tool. In fact, most patients who book online are seen within 1 to 3 days.
