Winfred B. Abrams, Jr., MD
Dr. Abrams' practice focuses on diagnosing the source of spine-related pain and building treatment plans that fit the patient, whether that means targeted injections, therapy-guided recovery, medication support, spinal cord stimulation evaluation, or coordination with OrthoSouth's broader spine team when needed. His goal is to help patients move better, hurt less, and understand their options clearly before considering surgery.
Dr. Abrams completed his surgical internship at the joint civilian-military program at Miami Valley Hospital in the Wright-State University Boonshoft School of Medicine Department of Surgery in Dayton, OH. He then transitioned to gain further leadership and clinical skills as a Combat Search and Rescue Medical Director and Flight Surgeon in the USAF at Nellis Air Force Base. Following those years, Dr. Abrams then completed a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD, followed by a fellowship in Pain Medicine at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Penn State Health, Hershey, PA. He is a graduate of UT Health Science Center in Memphis and received his B.S. in Chemistry from University of Pittsburgh.
In his free time, Dr. Abrams enjoys riding his motorcycle, playing basketball, and competitive shooting.
